A SCARCE 25-BORE PERCUSSION WALKING-STICK SHOTGUN, MODEL 'DAY'S PATENT, no visible serial number,
circa 1855, with twist-iron 28 3/4in. tapering turn-off barrel-section including an iron muzzle-plug with coin-milled band (frozen), twist iron cylindrical action body marked 'DAYS PATENT' and with embossed copper maker's plaque near grip (badly rubbed), manual cocking under-hammer with large pan head, concealed automatic trigger and walnut hooked handle, traces of possible original browned finish to iron parts,
